Looking for a good contest to submit to?

And you have a piece between 4,ooo and 12,000 words?

And you’re a woman?

Well, then.

I may have the opportunity for you.  Kore Press is running it’s annual chapbook contest, and they are looking for submissions upwards of 4,000 words.  If you win there is a 1,000 dollar cash prize, and much fame and glory.  Last year, Tayari Jones (our amazing prof who is out on sabbatical this fall) was the judge.  This year, the judge is Leslie Marmon Silko, also not shabby.

If you’re interested in submitting, get your act together, because submissions are due by the end of the month.  More information can be found here.
