Developments in Self-Publishing (NY Times Mag’s take)

In an article published earlier this month in the New York Times Magazine, Virginia Heffernan notes the rise in both  industry cred and sheer number of self-published books.  She even goes so far to say that “Book publishing is simply becoming self-publishing.”  This prospect becomes less frightening when you consider that due to the economically motivated changes in the publishing industry, many books coming out even the bigger houses only receive editing “lite” anyway.

The article mentions some online resources for self-publishing including IndieReader, Amazon’s CreateSpace and LuLu, which may be of interest to those of you who just kicked out a thesis.
